Oregon Legislature - House Passes HB 4054A

Today, in a 36 - 24 vote, in the Oregon Legislature - the House of Representatives voted to shove a stick in the eye of over 77,000 Oregon voters who rightfully and diligently participated in the citizen veto referendum process.

HB 4054A overrides the constitutionally guaranteed process by dragging a never used law out of the depths, that allows the Legislature to write, not only the ballot title, but the ballot yes and no statements and ballot summary language.  This move smacks of placing the fox in charge of the keys to the hen house.

Protect Oregon Driver Licenses urges the Oregon Senate to refuse the bill and not bring it to the floor of the Senate.
