Saturday - March 15 OFIR meeting
Meet Rep. Sal Esquivel - Chief Petitioner on SB 833
February 3, 2014

Saturday, March 15th - Oregonians for Immigration Reform (OFIR) will hold their quarterly meeting in Salem.  Our very special guest will be Representative Sal Esquivel of Medford.   Rep. Esquivel was one of the three Chief Petitioners for our veto referendum to overturn SB 833.

Join us in thanking Rep. Esquivel for his part in giving Oregon voters the right to choose if we want to give a state issued ID - in the form of a driver privilege card - to illegal aliens.

Protect Oregon Driver Licenses (PODL) will be kicking off the referendum election campaign at the meeting,...

PODL
December 21, 2013

The Oregon Supreme Court has granted a 21 day extension to the Attorney General's office to allow additional time for them to review the three challenges filed regarding the ballot language of Veto Referendum #301.

Any challenges to be filed were due December 19, 2013.

Check back for updates - we will keep you posted.

PODL challenges ballot language
Protect Oregon Driver Licenses
December 20, 2013

After carefully reviewing the certified ballot title language, Protect Oregon Driver Licenses has filed a challenge to the summary text. This challenge will ensure that the language is faithful to that of SB 833, is accurate and does not mislead voters.

SB 833 has one purpose--to permit unlawfully present aliens to obtain driver licenses. However, the summary misstates the effect of the SB 833 by focusing on prohibitions to the use of the driver card found nowhere in the text of the law.

Protect Oregon Driver Licenses requests the Supreme Court to direct the Attorney...

The signature gathering campaign has come to an end
October 10, 2013

The signature gathering campaign has come to an end. PODL submitted 71,000 signatures by the deadline of Oct. 4, 2013. The Secretary of State's office requires 58,142 valid signatures to qualify.

The Secretary of State's office is currently reviewing all of the signatures for validity. We should find out in the next couple of weeks if the referendum will qualify for the November 2014 ballot.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to help us reach our goal!

Ninety days sine die and the clock is ticking
June 30, 2013

According to referendum rules, Protect Oregon Driver Licenses will have 90 days sine die to collect the 58,142 valid signatures needed to get the SB 833 on the November 2014 ballot.  Ninety days is an incredibly short amount of time to accomplish such a feat. That is nearly 700 signatures every single day!  We intend to collect even more signatures than the requirement because of the necessary, but intense scrutiny we are likely to face at the Secretary of States office and because often times signature gatherers make mistakes causing entire sheets of signatures to be eliminated from the...

Signature gathering at car shows is fun!
June 20, 2013

Protect Oregon Driver Licenses encourages everyone to think outside the box when collecting signatures.  Think of places where like minded people might be gathering for an event and then head there with you clipboard and signature sheet packets.  The following is a list of upcoming car shows all over the state, so there is likely one in your neck of the woods.  Invite a friend to come along with you and set a goal for how many signatures you want to collect or set a time limit.  For example:  I will collect signatures for 3 hours or until I get 100 signatures, whichever comes first....

Is your town on the honor list?
PODL
June 17, 2013

Check out the long list of the cities and towns in Oregon from which we have received requests for signature sheets. The SB 833 referendum, if successful, will give Oregon voters the opportunity to decide if illegal aliens should be issued driver privilege cards.

It is an impressive list and attests to the strength of our conviction to over turn Senate Bill 833.

If your city is not on the honor list, give us a call, (503) 435-0141), or click back to the home and go to "gather signatures".  You can order signature sheet packets right on the website! We need everyone to ...

Simply scroll to the bottom of help gather signatures on the homepage, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the poster you wish to print.

Because all printers are different, we encourage you to do a print preview to make certain the poster is placed on the page exactly where you want it.

Several people have printed out the smallest poster, 8 1/2 x 11 on white cardstock and placed it on the back of their clipboard. You could also...
